I'm a persistent one and the Four Hour Work Week was nothing short of a true inspiration! The two qualities are a lethal combination though. I've been spectacularly ambitious and dismally unsuccessful so far in over 5 years of working on building muses.

I'd like to share my experiences. I thought about writing them directly on the forum here but there's so many of them that it would be overwhelming.

So I wrote each muse up on my blog. I hope you find them not just good entertainment but downright educational. I've learned these invaluable lessons the hard knocks way. And if anything it would be nice to save a few entrepreneurs from the some near lethal mishaps I endured.

With each failure I learn TONS and interestingly my goals don't become more modest. I feel fortunate to have experienced what I have and not hit it big yet.

That's partly because my friends who quickly and easily cash flow never really took their musings too much farther than that. They only made a few hundred bucks here and there at best. Yet when I study top business players I noticed something common to nearly ever single one. Virtually all have gone through the school of hard knocks and those lessons were the ones that helped them hit it big.

I have about another half dozen of these to write up. I guess I wasn't completely honest before though. I'm writing them to review the lessons learned so I don't make the same mistakes again as well as see if anybody has any advice to share. Despite my talk about appreciating the failures they are HARD to endure no matter who you are...

Yeah, these lessons can be discouraging though. I have been mentoring some friends who are following in my footsteps and writing the articles was part of that process.

I just started reading a book (it's really short but great) called The Dip by Seth Godin. I LOVE it and recommend it to anybody.

It pretty much describes my situation (and I'm sure so many other entrepreneurs situations) to the T. It's really an encouraging read.

I thought some of you might like seeing my first muse. It worked, but the market was insanely small.

I've since changed the business model for it. I simply posted the videos on Youtube for free. Figured it was better than making a few bucks every several months. With some luck I might gain some recognition for doing the work.

This was originally burnt to a DVD and mailed out through a website I created and eBay.

Unfortunately, volume only amounts to about $100 a year so I'm canning it. I think maybe it would do better on adsense if I get extremely lucky.

Note... That's only 1/2 the DVD my computer crashed when I went to re-render it. (It takes a day to render cause I did some fancy effects).
