Default Feedback asked for Muse

Hello,

This is Frits from Holland.

Before I spend €500 on my testplan, I still have a few questions. My idea for my muse; DVD & handbook for getting involved in drifting. Drifting is growing, I know a lot about cars and drift races myself.

The words drifting and driften (dutch) delivers an estimated 2,740,000 and 165,000. hits per month.

1st question; forget Holland and go international directly?

Then, the estimated CTR by google for "drifting" is 39 (39 hits!). When I follow the average conversion rate of 1.5%, it could make 0.5 orders/day. I guess this is way to small to get anywhere near a decent TMI? Or at least profit?

2. question? So could this muse be interesting at all?

Then, the book (4HWW) says prices for DVD with book, for about 80 euros. I think this is expensive and won't generate any buys.

3. What should I target my price at for the DVD and book?

4. And maybe instead of sending the DVD with book; How could I make the money machine work, if I wouldnt send packages, but offer some kind of online product?

Thanks in advance, waiting for your feedback.

Frits

Here's just one possible scenario you could do to get sales:

If you think 80 euros is a lot for what you're offering, then add some other bonuses to the package instead of lowering the price. Maybe you can have some expert interviews of people who are really good at drifting. You could make some audio files of several interviews and add that as a value booster. You can always put a 100 euros with a sash through it next to the actual price to make it look less.

Selling it online is the easiest way to automate and it can be international without a hassle. So after you're done testing, you should create it as a zip file, open some sort of paypal/google checkout/whatever and start making sales.

A word about advertizing, though. You should read up on keyword research- especially the bonus chapter here on the 4 hour work week website called "Muse Math" It talks about finding keywords and how to get a lot out of your PPC engine. You should definitely be using more than one, very broad keyword.

Also keep in mind that you can get better conversion rates by targeting your audience and having a really good site. No percentages for click through rate for ads and conversion rates for websites are set in stone.

Thanks for your comments. I realise I need more words, it was as example to ask if my market would be big enough. Especially because google gives an estimated 39 click-through for "drifting", a month, worldwide. Combinations with "drifting" mostly end up with "not enough data to make an estimation". But still, google counts 2.7 million people a month write down "drifting". Thats why I am confused.

However, 1% CTR and 1% conversion rate would make me a happy man. Testing is the only way to find out.

Your ideas? Call the freelance programmer?

Ah- I see. Google's CTR just calculates 1% of the people who search- so that may or may not be correct. Maybe you could got a better CTR and get more people on your site with that one keyword.

It's important to realize though- that that's only ONE keyword. So if your CTR is just 1% and you get 39 visitors per month or whatever, then don't stop there. Go and find other keywords "Drift racing" "how to drift race" "drift race guide" "Drift Competitions" and others. You'll need to see how much the keywords you brainstorm cost and how much you can convert. Do the math and your research and you'll find a lot of possibilities for driving a lot more traffic than 39 visitors a month.

funny that you ask this. I looked this very thing up 3 days ago because I wanted to knwo more about it. I find cars and the technique behind driving them fascinating but I dont know enough about them . So to know more I was searching on the net. I only found site that I thought really helped a beginner understand the theory AND practical side of drifting. I like it
