B2B muse

Anyone had any luck in business to business muses? I think I've identified a data set that should be awesome for marketers, and it's pretty easy data to obtain too (but time consuming). nobody seems to have done it yet either, as far as i can tell. Has anyone ever approached marketing companies to offer new data to be onsold to their clients?
