Default Capturing Details when Testing Muse using Wordpress

Hi,

I'm creating my first muse and want to test it. I'm using Wordpress, I have tried many different plugins to capture details but just can't find a proper, simple and working one. Can anyone suggest one? Or Any other idea? I don't want to use an autoresponder because then they have to confirm their "subscription" by clicking on a link that was sent to them via email. But since I use the capturing form as "Order Form" I wouldn't need the customer to confirm his details via email.

Thanks in advance.

Also, I created a 3 page site. The first page tests the copy, the second captures the details and gives the user the price so I can test the if the price is right. The third page tells the customer that we are currently out of stock, etc. As far as I'm concerned capturing credit card details is not legal if we don't have the product to sell. But if I don't put Credit Card details capturing form on the second page it can hardly be called "Order Form" therefore it doesn't prove anything. Not to mention that what if someone wants to pay by PayPal? I can't "fake" a paypal order form under the credit card form.

Can anyone give me a little advice or maybe show me an example? Thank you!

B.

baaltazar,

This is an easy fix. Have page one set up as your sales letter. With your sales copy in its entirety to include the price (preferably at the bottom so the reader goes through the entire page). You test your copy and price point here.

Make Page 2 a registration page. Call it "Shopping Cart Registration" inputs are Name and email address. Put a "Checkout" button below. You test the demand for your product by counting a registration as a "sale".

Page three is normally your PayPal checkout. Except it isn't. Keep yourself legal. On this page, you tell the user there is a technical difficulty and you will contact them shortly.

If you need help or want this done professionally for you, I ask you to check out my site.

Hi Musetester,

Thank you for your quick response. I wanted to act as Tim suggested (test every possible aspect differently). What my problem is that "Shopping Cart Registration" doesn't really count as a Sale IMO. There could be way too many things happening that prevent a sale after "Registration". I think I only count a Sale when the customer provided everything and hit Purchase.

Or correct me if I'm wrong - as I said this is only my first muse testing and I believe you have more experince in this. What are thoughts on that?

I checked your site, looks good to me, but to be honest, I don't need half of the things you offer (host, domain, etc) since I have my own server. But I'm open to any suggestion, and I could definitely use some professional help (of course not for free). Can you send me a few of examples of your work (private message is fine too)? Thanks
