Cool What is better?

I want to start a website to earn money. I tried to make a weblog with Wordpress Direct but i felt like is was not something for me. I got 3 good muse ideas and i all ready did the marketing research and they are all 3 good ones

Now my problem is that i don't know anything about making websites but, i want to learn it. So i got actually 2 questions left:

1. What is better to earn money with?
- A normal website about the subject where people can download stuff from
- A webshop where you sell stuff from others
- A webshop where you sell stuff for yourself
- A webblog with adverticing and affiliates (and maybe selling stuff from yourself)

I want to have people buying some producht (from myself or somebody else) and once they bought is that they have the possibility that they can become a member since they downloaded the product and after that, that they can get e-mails from me, visit the forum on the website and more stuff like that so they keep coming back.

2. question?
What is the best, cheapest and fastest way to learn how to make a website like this. I don't look for a super fast magic formula to make websites no, i really want to learn this.

Thank you verry much.

Thumbs up

Pimstyle,

If you have your own product and muse idea, then it is definitely better to sell it yourself. Profit margins are higher, and you own the product yourself.

If you give it away for free and monetize with ads, I don't think you will make as much. But you can monetize free content with ads as a teaser to your main product, and then sell your own product on your own webpage.

So I would say (and I think this is also emphasized in 4Hww) sell your own product if you can. Option 2 is sell someone else's, and option 3 is monetize a blog, but I would not use that solely as a means of income.

Also, Wordpress is incredible. You can design not just a blog, but an entire website with powerful plugins, ecommerce - the sky is the limit. It does not need to be just a blog. There are also incredible themes that you can snap right in.

Test your product and sell it yourself.

Start now, fail, then do it again. Solve anything that blocks your path.
Use wordpress or drupal.

It is really that simple. And that complicated.

test test test and then optimize your site for your potential customers and then test again lol.

It's like an art that you have to refine till it's perfect.

Why limit yourself to one model?

My successful muse started out with a product idea just like yours! Then I set up a blog to drive traffic. I eventually sold advertising for the product.

Create your product. Set up a blog using wordpress (free and quick) and then create great content. Sell advertising as the traffic picks up and find partner to refer traffic to you in exchange for a commission on the sales they make!

As the posts above said, just start anything and test. Try selling advertising. Try selling your product through amazon, ebay etc.

The one thing that I would recommend is that you do go with Wordpress. its the best platform for getting ranked on the search engines.

I recently recorded a video on how to set up your own wordpress site for free in 5 minuets

I also wrote a post outlining all of the different business models online with their pros and cons (I've tried all of them!)

I hope this helps!
