Default 9-5 beckons

DVD is currently in progress! Wahoo. Very exciting and I've put a release date down for 1st October. Not knowing it would take this long though.. and with no other muse ideas in progress.. sadly it's back to 9-5 for me.. hopefully not for too long!

Has anybody else been in this position? Or more on the reverse?

I have a few promising projects on the way as well! Glad to hear your return to the 9 - 5 will hopefully be a short term idea. Good luck with your DVD!

I myself am just starting out. I have a few ideas to reach my first milestone of 2k per month and I'll be testing out the various businesses over the next few months.

Good luck again! Hope to see you back into the 4HWW lifestyle soon!

You're not alone my brother!

I kicked the 9-5 to the curb over two years ago to mess with muses. Have been unsuccessful so far, was able to fall back on savings.

Now it all feels like wasted time...so, I am hoping to get back into a 9-5 (actually 8-5 since I live in Texas) just to give me the feeling of accomplishment! Ha. Not hurting for money but the gap in the resume is painful even with the muse attempts.

My real word of warning to everyone is to not take the plunge and ditch the full-time employment until you have enough income to do it...

Good luck to you sir.

I am starting on a game changer muse soonish...so, we shall see!

would that be good luck Madam?!

Yes the gap in the resume can hurt, but it shouldn't. I also did 6 months of traveling the world, so I have heaps to fill the gaps as I'm sure you would to! I've learnt numerous other skills by being outside of cubicle nation.

great to hear what others are up to and good luck guys!! YES I hope to be back to the 4HWW concept ASAP.

Why, hello m'lady.

Ich spreche wenig deutsch.

I learned a little German. Traveled to Europe three times. Traveled a bit around the US, moved cities, then moved back. Life experience was good. I learned a lot about web business and web startups but I am still not sure it is good for the ole resume!

I have a way with words but I can only do so much with muses that didn't make money as far as my resume is concerned!!!! But I am not really into the whole "fear" thing, everything will work out even if I go back to the daily grind.

Anyhow, sorry for calling you brother, sister! I had a great time in Prague with two young ladies from Australia...wow, probably will never forget that night!

Nice one maxpr.. Yes traveling brings great memories.. I still have a little chuckle to myself now and again when I recall some random episode that I experienced whilst traveling. I certainly will not forget the random backpacker that fell off his bunk bed not once, but twice.. and the second time he fell into my bottom bunk bed! Too too funny.. not usually the way I like to wake up! Still funny.

I like your attitude too.. It seems I am getting several job offers now which is great and perhaps...just perhaps.. I might not have to suit up just yet!

And nein I don't spreche Deutsch.. trying to speak Spanish though.

Ola ? como estas ?

Im not in the same position yet, I left work in december and I am about to release my first product on the french market... If there is a good pay off i will continue with my other muses ideas, and in case it doesn't work, then I ll keep on living out of savings or unemployment money and maybe get another job +9-5 if i have to save more money to get another idea up and running.

Good luck

Hi all,

I quit my day job three years ago to work on my own company. I had created it a couple years before that and always tried to design it so it could work without me (not only because it was a side business... I hadn't heard of Tim Ferris then, but I wanted it that way). Unfortunately it has required from me more time than expected, but now I'm starting to be able to step back and enjoy a bit more and start other things.

Regarding those of you that worry about gaps in your resume, I would recomend you not to worry too much. That can be a problem for the big corporations, but most small businesses don't look at that so much and will listen to what you have to say. And if I needed to go back to the workforce anytime I'd prefer to go to a small business where I could really have some control over my destiny than a huge company with policies.

Wow, nicely put fernando. While I sadly drag my heels off to a recruitment agency and waste time filling out all the paperwork and doing ridiculous tests (word, excel and typing) I find myself wanting to steer away from the larger corporations as well. For me now.. I want to work for a smaller business and not get lost in the whirlwind of the larger corporations.

Right now I am still far away from committing to cubicle nation and I'm hoping it will stay that way...
