Default Staying in New York for 3-4 weeks

Some friends of mine and I are going to NYC in late June. After they've left I'm planning to stay there for 3-4 weeks at an apparttment.

I'm looking for a place to stay that is safe, easy to bring girls to, it's also important that the place is pretty cheap.

How much would it cost to stay at a place in New York for 3-4 weeks?

You should be able to find something on Craigslist.

I found a last minute (literally within 24 hours) apartment sublease near Time Warner Center & 1 block from central park for like $5500 for the month. Everything else there like food and entertainment is expensive, but worth it to try at least once.

I'm sure you could find something starting around $600 or $700 for a month, but not sure how nice it will be. Anyways, have fun!

He will not find anything for 700-800, maybe a week? Go on craigslist and look for sublets, but you should put aside at least $1000 for the month.

Anton is right - You will likely not find a spot for less than $1,000. This will get you a room in an apt with roommates. Roommates may complicate your plans to bring girls home. For a place of your own, you should look to put aside $2000 - $3000.

As far as places to stay. If you are young and want to go out to bars etc., aim for somewhere below 14th street and above Canal st. West village, east village, or soho will all do.
