Question Addicted to One Time Offers!

Hello everyone!

I've recently had success selling products online , but only though One Time Offers (order by Friday and you'll get 20% off plus a bonus, etc.). That is a highly recommended tactic that worked for me to get people to buy.

However, my long term goal is to generate consistent, passive sales that don't need much upkeep or time-heavy product launches. Sales that continue for months (or years) after the product is debuted.

Increase the value of the products, sure. Maybe the one time offers work because they cross a threshold in the customer's mind, not because they're limited time.

Large corporations do this by continuing to market the product and continually offering small incremental versions/generations (Apple iPod, Flip).

But other than that, any suggestions on turning a one-time-offer into a long term seller?

I don't know if you are looking for a different business model than the one you have. But if you are looking for a way to sell products with limited availability this might work

Check out bigcommerce. I've been using it for a while now and it's been great. My store is different than yours. However, it has some amazing features i wish i could use myself. I think some of them may work for your situation. You can sell products with special discounts that are only available for a specific amount of time. Also, you can sell products that will automatically removed from the store after a specific date. there are many automatic rules that you can set for each product. It takes the manual labor out of posting, editing and removing discount on products. The official site is bigcommerce.com check out the user manual where they go into detail about setting up product promotion rules
