Question Article/blog post writing: What's the average price range?

How much does it cost to outsource article/blog post writing? I know it depends on many factors like article size, topic, etc. but what's the average price range?

What are some of the best sites to find writers?

Well, currently I've been able to find some great writers in my niche, writing high quality blog posts at an average of 20 usd per post. (between 600 and 1600 words)

This didn't all come too soon, I've had approximately 35 freelance writers write test-articles at a cost between 5 and 55 usd. (elance, getafreelancer and odesk)
Then I had the articles professionally checked on spelling and grammar errors.
After that, I started reading the top articles and removed the ones that were wrong, low quality, copied or just plain stupid.
It left me with 7 writers of which I selected the least expensive ones.

It did cost me a considerable budget, but I know this tactic is going to save me a lot of money in the long run.
