Default How do I make a test page?

I tried using the search engine in this forum and going through the FAQ. But there is no concrete answer to this. It seems by the feel of the forums, most people here have a strong or familiar background in website programming and can easy generate a test page. But for people like me, who have no idea about website programming what options do I have?

So far I can think of one, "elance". But then again, this is my last resort.

are there any options? Like a template of some sort?

What other methods or tricks have you (forum members) used?

Side Note:
PS, Great Case Study David.

I think the best way would be to master installing cms (content management systems). I have taken this route and amvery pleased.

I always found it unpleasant to be tied to a web developer. Now I can have a site up and running in about 5 hours. If you do a search on "Drupal" you should find my post where I explain the steps I took.

Good luck!
