Default Software Download System / Software Licensing

Hello,

Looking for two things, if anyone can help that would be great:

1. Where to get a software download system?

Someone buys some software from my site, that person can then download the software from my website. This way I don't have to send any CD's or DVD's. I understand you could do this with basic shopping carts but I doubt it would work for larger files e.g. software that is 500 megabyte+

2. Where to go to get a software license?

How do I go about getting a license to become a software reseller. E.g. If I wanted to resell someone elses time management software or music creating software, how would I get the license to do this. I understand I could contact them directly but I was wondering if there's a database of software licenses for resellers.

Thanks in advance!

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier (and more profitable) to become an affiliate for these software companies. My guess is there would be a lot more margin for you since you would not need to keep huge data stores on the internet – not to mention the security and the overall infrastructure.

I own a software/product development company. I would love to have affiliates out there selling my products and I would give them a huge percentage of the sale since it’s not a customer I was likely to get through my own channels. However, I would draw the line at having a reseller with full access to my software since I can’t control how it is distributed. Licensing the end user is another issue.

Just my .02.

Ok for example something like this:

pcmusicstuff.com/avm_morpher.html

I'm pretty sure they don't develop the software. And when you buy something on their site it doesn't go to an affiliate link.

1. Who would I go to get to the license to sell software like this?

2. Is the order system/download system they're using (RegNow) any good? Or do you recommend something else?

Thanks.

My bad, just realized that it is affiliate software run through RegNow / Digital River. Are these guys any good?

Can you recommend any other good affiliate programs that specialize in digital software like RegNow / Digital River?
