Hello everyone. My name is Robert.
I'm new to the forums and this is my first post here. I was searching around the internet for a muse and suddenly it hit me. Something that I do for entertainment nearly everyday if not twice a day could be marketed and sold for some decent product. Now I've already read Tim's book once through and re-read quite a few pages so I have the basic concepts down. However I'm simply looking for some extra input. Before I get into my idea I want to get some background on my life thus far out of the way. (Skip to paragraph three if you're not really interested in me.

)
For starters I'll start with the basics. I'm a 23 year old college dropout who works in internet tech support for a cable company. I mostly spent my time during high school and college dreaming about living the "good life" and never worrying about money again. I had my dreamlines all down in my head, I just didn't call them that until Tim got around to being an author, heh. Anywho, I was the typical dork/nerd/dweeb (pick one) during the beginning years of high school and it wasn't until I hit the 12th grade (US public school) that I really opened up and found my personality. I'm still meticulous about what I do in regards to work and recreation, but I learned to put aside certain things that just didn't require my immediate attention. When things built up to the point at which I had to pay attention to them or they threatened to crush me (one dreadful nightmare of a giant pile of laundry comes to mind) I simply switched to hyperactive gear and finished in record time. So with my strict attention to detail at work and my blasé attitude toward most of my life I was slowly becoming the dreaded W4W robot! Little did I know that the line in Tim's book, "Pure hell forces action, but anything else can be endured with enough clever rationalization." (page 43), would drive me to the bookstore to search out alternative means on income. I found this wonderful title that immediately grabbed my attention and I simply picked up the book and ran to the checkout counter. I didn't even read the jacket to see what it was about. Fate just stepped in. So here I am, still addicted to work, drowning in my ideas, wading through the nightmare of internet tech support, and searching for someone to throw me that life preserver.
As for my idea I don't want to give too much away as I am a very paranoid person at times... I generally visit three or four sites a day almost religiously. I recently noticed that many of these types of sites were putting together collections of the intellectual property (herein known as I.P.) they contained. Well my thought is to put together a sampler of the different types of and sites that display this certain content I view for entertainments sake. Now I have some questions I'm hoping that you can help me with. Should I consult each of the I.P.'s creators separately and get confirmation of interest or should I simply put together a list of my most commonly visited sites and then use them as sort of bartering material to guide the creators to going in for my idea. Might I consider getting legal help with copyrighting/patenting my idea? I'm not exactly sure which avenue to look into first and the first step is always the most important. Please post any info or suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance.
p.s. I'm definitely up to looking into getting a partner for this business venture. Email me if seriously interested at
