Default Moving from PPC marketing to SEO, helps!

Just wanted to share some good news with my first muse, a niche baby clothing web-site. (I wish I could share the URL but to many savvy business people frequent these forums). Anyways, had pretty good success with PPC on Yahoo and Google ad first. I've read multiple books on how to do paid search marketing so was able to keep the costs low and the conversions high.

Anyways, once I figured out which keywords were converting best (yes you really should install conversion tracking). I hired an SEO firm and go to the top of the natural positions within 5 months for my main key phrases.

The only drawback is its apparently hard to do SEO for hundreds of keyword variations. So I had them get me up for about 30 main key phrases (the most expensive in Google Adwords) and I've kept my pay per click running for the other longer tail keywords that cost me a lot less.

Its really spiked our traffic and sales.

I would also like to know what firm you used. With that being said, I don't believe not posting the URL is really business savvy, I mean I want my sites to be as well known as possible which means they won't be hidden, just my 2 cents.

With that being said what kind of baby clothes do you do (not interested in that market as a niche more as a father)

There is a lot of value in seo and getting an organic placement. I'm pretty excited to have gotten number one for two keyword phrases today for a client. I thought it would take 6 months. I just aimed my sites at them 6 days ago and logged into the stats and we were not just on the first page but Numero UNO.

But I have to check tomorrow morning to see if it's still true. Many times you get on the first page at night and then you're on page 3 during the day. But it's a start.

I think some comments on stumbleupon from fellow 4hww buddies helped a bunch, too. Thanks to those members.
