What's up guys!
Nice to be here and knowing that I'm not the only one inspired by Tim's brilliant ideas. Ok, straight to business. I've read the book, loved it and decided to act. Right now I'm in the muse searching period, and I have quite a confusion here.. To be more clear I'm going to give you a short background summary. I'm 24, I live in Finland, born in Russia. I'm fluent in English and Russian. A bit of Finnish.. I sound quite funny on that one ![]() I'm an athlete with a 2 year experience.. I've been going to gym, now I'm training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and just LOVING IT !! Give it a try.. it's awesome ! Anyway.. I've been interested in Internet Technologies, and made my first website when I was 15.. sold my first one on 17.. since then I've been running an Internet Marketing company with my buddy.. I don't know anything about sales or marketing though.. but I'm good at designing websites.. that's for sure. Ow yeah! I'm also a big fan of stuff related to dating and social dynamics.. that's actually one of the big challenges in my life for now - being a "Player" in the ladies world. I'm already about 1,5 year in this community. Ok then.. considering my background I came up with several ideas for the muse: 1). Continue with my Internet Marketing company and try to outsource most of my work. My personal take on this is pretty negative. Because I'm not really happy with this. It is very time consuming (even though I'm outsourcing most of my work for freelancers already). And I don't have a constant flow of clients as well. Also this business is on the service side, so it's not fitting to the automation system, because I have constant calls (whether client's want to update something, whether have some random question) and so on. 2). Make a how-to CD or DVD product: "Inexpensive and fast way to create a productive website for you business" for small and medium businesses. I've found out that many people want good websites, but don't want to pay much. And most web studios are interested in bigger projects or charge a lot of money. So in this product I will explain how to plan and create a very effective website with minimum spendings and most important marketing rules applied. Also with some top notch tips and tricks included. (Product can be both in English and in Russian) I'm not pretty much sure here, because in our modern age most people already know how to make simple websites and use PPC or SEO. 3). Develop an eCommerce business using the http://www.worldwidebrands.com/ as a resource. And just resell the most popular products they advise.. sound's pretty lame at first.. because I sure will have lot's of competitors and the field is pretty broad.. but my strength here is that I can make a really good and functional web-store which would be pretty competitive among others such as Yahoo-Stores (which mostly look familiar). And also I can duplicate this store to the .ru net, and sell those goods to Russia. 4). Supply the Russians with the translations of the top notch seminars and DVD products from "Dating Community" which is only in English. The idea is to contact the manufacturers, get the exclusive rights to translate and resell their products, but the problem here is p2p networks such as Torrent which can kill my business in no time. Well that's pretty much it. I wonder what's your take on this guys. Respect and much love to ya all. Thanx in advance. T:Valentine. |

Welcome Valentine,
Sounds like you have a good idea of your strengths and have some options on where to take them. It looks like you're ready to make test pages and see what the feedback is on your different projects. |

I would actually go with 1-3
Yes, all of them. As for 1 - find people you trust. Using sites like elance, etc, you will be burned some times, but if you do it right, it will only be small amounts. Keep tabs on people who did good work and find an avenue to direct work directly to them. Also: brush up on your project management / requirements writing skills. As for 2 - Also do this. This seems like a business that can run passively on the side. Make sure that you include your services (if you need something more advanced, please contact me) in it. As for 3 - do this with your contacts from 1, whenever there is time in between projects. ::emp:: |

Thanx for a reply Cap!
I think you're totally right. First of all, to complete the muse 3 I would need experience from muse 1 ANYWAY. Then muses 1 and 2 are great matchers and cross-marketing can be applied to them easily. And on the top of that i could then write a vook or make another CD-DVD product about eCommerce using my expertise and experience from muse 3 ![]() hmm .. this stuff is all crossed together pretty tightly. And this sounds like a good plan.. and luckily I have a good platform here. Anyway.. any other advice or feedback is VERY appreciated! Thanx in advance champs! |

There's no way anyone here can give you a solid answer to this problem, because none of us are YOU.
I will say that the problem with #4 is that, say you go to David D, and sell him on the idea of translating his stuff... If he likes the idea, and sees it as worthwhile, he would probably just hire someone to translate the stuff cheap and market it himself, without you taking a cut. This will help you... A) Which of these options will give me the highest Income? (Total yearly income divided by # of hours worked.) B) Which of these options would give me the most Freedom? C) Which of these options would be the easiest to Muse? D) Which of these options, do I have the most knowledge/experience in? E) Which of these options will I be the most Motivated to succeed in/feel the proudest of? F) Which of these options, do I believe I can succeed in the most? (Faith and Confidence in yourself is the key factor for success.) Last edited by ConquerLife; 06-27-2008 at 08:50 AM. |
