Default Alternatives to Clickbank

Are there any other sources for affilliate sales material similar to clickbank?
I understand that just about any site can offer an affilliate program, but does clickbank have any competition... I geuss is the best way to pu it.

Thanks

Can it really be true that Clickbank has no competition?

I haven't used any affiliate marking sites, but it seems that there are a TON of them out there. Just run a google search.

Here are a couple:
www.cj.com
www.associateprograms.com
http://www.affiliatebot.com/

Just do some digging around!

Some others are

Paydotcom.com
-Unlike Clickbank you provide your own payment processor and process your own refunds and affiliate payments. Honestly I don’t really like it

e-junkie.com
-e-junky is a pretty good one, they take payments in most major currency, handle secure ebook delivery, storage and have a pretty good affiliate program

But honestly you won’t get the sort of exposure that clickbank will give you – they have hundreds of thousands of affiliates to promote your products. Imagine if only 1% promoted your product

Default Click2Sell.eu

I have been using Click2Sell lately. It’s the newest affiliate network on the net, easy to use and has useful tracking features.

paydotcom.com is a competitor.

Note: I just saw James Gray had posted that. But I do prefer this one over CB.

Similar to PayDotCom, there are "scripts" (PHP/mySQL software) out there (I sell some, such as Instant Split Commissions) that enable you to set-up your own affiliate program, or in the case of ISC it's more like a Joint Venture/Partnering system.

Having had ebook products sold via Clickbank for awhile now I can tell you that most of the "affiliates" registered on Clickbank don't, and won't, promote your product, and the ones that do generally do a bad job, meaning they don't actually generate *any* sales.

I'd guess (out of the asserted 100,000+ affiliates Clickbank claims to have) that around 0.002% have created a hoplink for our PT Archive product (in the past 30 days -- it fluctuates) and of those affiliates only a literal handful actually refer any sales.

That means that we have hundreds of Clickbank affiliates -- and I'm talking about people who have, and do on a monthly basis, sent us literally 1000's of "hops" (clicks, or visitors) -- that simply do not convert *any* sales at all.

I know all this from studying our analytics in our Clickbank account.

The main caveats here are:

1. Our product is pretty "nichey" or specific -- even though arguably Portable Trades & Occupations is in a pretty broad category -- so I wouldn't expect many more CB affiliates to "grab our hoplink and run with it".

2. Most of the "responsibility" of making sales falls on our shoulders, in making the sales page as "attractive" and persuasive as possible -- which is why I can confidently tell you that the most productive affiliates are the ones who have pre-sold our product with their own websites/content etc...(because most of them were customers before they became affiliates).

The majority of affiliates (like most people anywhere) are generally lazy (out of a get-rich-quick mentality), slap up some unspecific, untargeted links page, or whatever, and then move on to the next "product/opportunity" to promote when they don't see "instant and amazing" profits.

Caveat Venditor
