Hello, I'm doing a project (book) collection consisting of over 300 websites with a number of features in common, style of "Taschen" (eg the top 100 websites in flash)
The value of this book is the compilation and categorization of these web pages, which present an image of the home page and comments for each. My question is this: if I sell this product, do I have to communicate or ask permission of the authors and / or owners of each of the websites? thanks! |

These were really cool back in 1989, but not so much now. Do some market research and test the idea before you run with it.
As for using someone else's work, you are going to need permission if you want to add screen shots. Crappy low res screen shots are an iffy area of copyright law, but anything you would want to print and sell would clearly not fall under fair use. |

ok! thanks kamakiri.
I imagined that this is so, but it is disturbing that when this happens on the web, not usually ask permission from the owners, though I suppose it is because the gain is not directly or sale ... |
