Default fulfillment of CD + workbook + transcript

Is this still the case -- that they don't offer a product bundle of CDs + workbook, etc.?

I really don't want to have products shipped to me to bundle then ship them out. That's extra time and expense that seems wasteful if I'm not the first person to want to sell a combo product.

I'm still researching but so far both Kunai and Cafe Press have been brilliant as far as products go. So you'll have to make 2-3 products, order them, package them at home..blah blah..too much work. I have not done any work yet with LuLu

But...Kunkai (The CD/DVD "vending machine") sent me a pro looking disc and cover, full color RGB print, with perfect data in 6 days (USA to Australia). The XML feature is very nice too if you want integrate payment in your website and have money in the bank via PayPal, rather than them sending you a check. But they don't do POD printing for booklets or package stuff together. So...to solve that, I made all my material digital (Ebook bookley, ebook outlone, MP3 audio book), and used Kunaki to produce them. I got the XML script from DiscBuddy, and away we go!

Hope this helps

Customer service is pretty good also.

What are the prices like? I was going to suggest the same thing, although I've never used them yet I am looking at this set up....

Does cd-fulfillment arrive with streaked ink or poor printing?
They have looked very good and I planned to upload my audio to them, but I just found some reviews by marketers, who mentioned their printer didn't always work well?

I wonder about the length of a CD? I think it is 80 minutes long. I have an audio program of about 5 hours, might be up to 7 or so, and I am thinking that customers might not want a set of several CDs. I was hoping to have 1 or 2 CDs. On the other hand, if you get an audio book from a library, say a novel, it could be 4 or 5 CDs.

It looks like Vervante can burn a CD up to about 80 minutes,
Trepstar also has a similar minute limit per CD.

Is a data DVD or data CD an option? I’m trying to find something that will play on ipods, CD players, car stereos, etc.

I guess I pictured my product as a 1 or 2 CD set, not sure who would want this unfolding set of 5 or 6 CDs. I also have some audio that exceeds 80 minutes, which is the limit of a CD, I believe? So would I split the audio track? It is confusing.

Default CD Length

The max mins recommended for a CD is 74 minutes (Normal CD using WAV files). I recommend to try and keep it under 70 mins because 74 mins is pushing it and the CD may burn with errors (even with professional duplication and replication).

However, you can fit hundreds of hours of MP3 onto a CD. If you convert your audio to MP3, at voice quality (64 kb/sec), you get get more then 200 hours on one CD. MP3 CD's can be played on all computers, most new modern car CD players and portable CD players. Even better, MP3 plays on all MP3 players and iPods. Ever thought of selling a per-loaded mp3 player.

Although, having multiple CD's does create the a perception of value. People will happily pay $100 plus for a 3-5 CD box set. You can do a 7 CD box set at www.cd-fulfillment.com for bertween $25-30 and sell for $150.00. Nice profit.

Cheers

The choice is yours. I do MP3 for a younger hip more technical audience and CDs for everybody else

Default No Problems

No problems. Happy to help. The guys at http://www.cd-fulfillment.com (now Trepstar) are really helpful and they do good work. Their quality is good enough to at least get you started. When your product takes off and makes money then I suggest finding a local CD manufacturer who replicates CDs using a glass master (the proper way to make CDs). I am a musician with 4 albums and I know what can happen with bad duplication. However, the CD's I have made with cd-fullfillment.com were pretty good. The only complaint I had was a small amount of bleed on the print on the CD. To overcome this, use less dark colours and complex images on your CD. Make the cover complex but keep the CD simple (such as some text and a logo).

Cheers

Matt
