Default Travel idea/opportunity for fellow 4HWWers

I started my own business about four years ago and currently have 6-8 months of free time each year.

I have an idea for allowing some of us to work together to create some “rental timeshares” that would allow us to visit locations inexpensively.

Clearly, renting an apartment for the standard one year lease is a much cheaper alternative than hotels or even hostels. Plus you have the benefit of more room (2 bedrooms) and a place to keep personal belongings when you return.

If 6-12 of us put in from 1 - 2 month’s rent we could get an apartment for one year. I was thinking someplace like NYC initially because it’s a popular four season destination. We could put some free booking software online and each member could pick out the times they would like to stay. It could range for as long as two months or it could be broken down into shorter multiple visits.

If this concept works, we could expand to more people and more locations in other destinations (Paris?, London? Barcelona? MIami) Then members could swap with each other just like in a regular timeshare.

I’ve talked to several landlords about this arrangement and they didn’t seem to have a problem as long as everyone was on the lease.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

The one ingredient you cannot do without? Time. Learn how to create more of it and do what you want

You should consider the time ingredient. It is the most important factor in my opinion

Sounds like a good idea.

I like it too... But I haven't been able to earn my freedom yet
