Is there an advantage to setting up an e-commerce store on Yahoo merchant? Do they have a customer base built in, such as ebay does? Versus a platform like BigCommerce?

The whole point of ecommerce capability is to accept purchases, capture shipping info and faciliate the delivery of your product or service.
Look for the service that 1)you (or a VA) is capable of editing/executing and 2) is the cheapest. PayPal is super easy to use but takes a big 3-7% wet bite out of your rear end with each transaction. Interestingly enough, I just opened a small business account with Bank of America for www.rackjobmagic.com. A LLC, an EIN and 30$ a month has BoA at my becking call. My credit isn't spectacular but they literally fell all over themselves to give me a merchant account. This brings me from PayPal's 3-7% hit to BoA's 1-2% fee per transaction AND is super legit. The internet is full of dudes using PayPal--but who actually has an LLC and a merchant account? Can you say credibility? Try it....if you have trouble give me a shout. Lane |
