Default Consumables and FDA

Hello everybody! First post at 2am, wired on a muse idea.

I have a consumable herbal extract that I believe could sell well, but I think I have hit a wall.

The wholesaler has this warning up on the product page: This product is intended for legitimate research purposes only and is strictly not for human consumption!

This must be some ass covering to stop FDA approval.

If my product can't be marketed as a consumable and requires this in big bold letters on the page, then it won't sell.

What are the rules around this? Are the extracts and chemicals in all supplements FDA approved?

Thanks for you help!
