Hi,

I have some questions regarding information products that I would really appreciate if someone could answear.

How big issue is it that the product can be uploaded? My target audience is young and used to dowload tv series etc, will this be a major problem for me?

I think my main source for marketing should be on forums. Do you have any good tips on what I should think about? Also do you have any good books/sites that are specialized on this?

It might be, but you'll also get paying customers as well if the content is really good.

Seth Godin put up his e-book for free on a lark, and so many people loved it that they wanted to buy a PHYSICAL book from him.

If you're putting out bs product, don't worry about it. No one is going to dl it even if it's available on the torrents/warez sites.

Hello...Look for the top websites in your market and see what traffic they gets. Try to visit Quancast and look for the exact demographic of your competitor's traffic. Doing so will also let you know exactly what type of person to go after.
Knowing your target audience is very crucial for your ads will not work if they don't appeal to what your potential customers need or want so you have do do a research to find out as much as possible about the people you want to sell to.

Kind Regards,
Masahiko

Thanks both of you for your input. I think I know the consumers pretty well since I am one of them myself since 5 years back.

The main problem here I think is that there are no other product like the one Im planning, there are somewhat similar products but no one exactly the same. I know the target audience would benefit greatly from the product if they use it properly, I think it is critical the advertising is right for it to work.

This is the first information product Im thinking about selling. I would rather have an idea where there is a smaller improvement within an existing market, do you think this is to complex to start with? Also what was the name of the Seth Godin book?
