Hi people,
Been reading the 4HWW Getting near the end and loving it. Timothy Ferriss is a genius!
Well I have managed to find a muse i feel will have great potential, i have my product planned and it is an information based product. I wish to sell for myself and also through the click bank market place. There is just a few things I am lost on so if any body could help i would very much appreciate it.
First thing, market research? How would i go about finding how many competitors i have? And then I will know whether to pursue this idea! And how to test my market?
Second Issue, Creating a product? I would like to create most of the product myself. It will be a how to manual with how to videos. How would i go about turning my creation into an Ebook for cheap or possibly free?
Now these might seem like silly questions and easy but i have an idea of how to do it but i keep questioning myself. Anybody who could help me i would try my best to return the favour should you need it.
Thanks in advance,
Stay smiling :).

Hey Tom,
Welcome to the forum! I think to conduct market research the easiest way to go about it is to see if there are any other competitors selling a similar product out there. If there are, then your idea could be profitable. If there is none, I think if you really have faith in your product you should test it the way Tim did.
About the second part you can create an ebook for free but you'll have to pay for the hosting and domain on the site you want to sell it on. Also if you want it to be designed well you'd have to pay for that too. It depends on you on how well you want to create the design and present your product. Otherwise you can just use Microsoft Word and create a pdf out of it
To create videos, you can either use screencapture software or shoot videos with your camera/video recorder. To deliver the videos you can either create a membership site where people can login to view the videos or deliver the videos straight after a purchase. Your choice :)
Hope that helps. Of course if you need anymore details I'll be happy to help you :D

Thanks for your reply :), Just a few more questions. Well their are people making how to guides on the topic but not targeting the exact market I am, although their are over 7,600 searches for just one search term and a lot more for other variations.
I think their is a market for it, I will probably do the web design myself see how good i can get it :). Do you think i should build the site buy PPC ads and when they go to buy take their details and get back to them?
Im thinking my best bet would be to sell through affiliates? As i have read Tim's interview with the guy who wrote the abs E book. I find this all very confusing but I'm going to get cracking and try it :).
Thanks,
Tom Chapman

email capture is often a brilliant idea for people selling informational products. not only does it help you sell your products, but you can often sell other peoples related products as well once a list has been built.
PPC is good but i do suggest you focus some of your efforts on SEO. Good SEO can take a good while so i suggest you lay some ground work and do that work in the background whilst focusing primarily on PPC to begin with.
Informational products can be really really enjoyable to make, so do enjoy the process, but make sure it's viable before you invest your time and effort.
7600 searches is a very good number if it's specifically aimed at the niche you're targeting. just in case you havn't, make sure those statistics are for 'exact match' searches instead of broad just to make doubly sure there's solid interest in it.
affiliates can be a great way to go! make sure you have a compelling offer and a compelling sales page.
Your idea sounds interesting. Let me know if you're interested in some form of JV and I will speak to you about it in more detail. if not, no problem :).
Good Luck with it all!!!!! i like your attitude.
Just one more thing to think about. Depending on the niche and the type of target audience you could also consider making your site a membership site. Membership sites deliver the same kind of content but in a different manner. It is a good way of making a constant risidual income. Offer a members forum for people to speak to each other and other experts once they've paid.
