Hey Guys,

My question for all the 4hww enthusiasts like me is, Do you think giveaways are a good way to get people to sign up for your site or purchase your muse?

I always did lifestyle experiments since I was young but thought they were very pointless until I was exposed to Tim. I see that he does giveaways (on a far larger scale) and want I to give it a try.

I am currently doing an Amazon Kindle giveaway (http://eugenehennie.com/2011/11/you-can-be-rewarded-for-your-good-deeds/) for people at my site. People have to sign up but have to submit pics of themselves helping others during the holiday season. The pics are tickets into a lottery for the drawing for the kindle.

Does this make sense to do? I have already received about 45 pictures since the blog post. How do I go about making it work better? It is something I plan on doing regularly on the site and my muse sites. This is sort of an experiment before applying it to my muse sites

Have any of you ever done a giveaway before? If so what was it? How did it go? Did it lead to increase sales in anyway? What wording or tactics did you employ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I value the opinion of the forum members. Thanks guys

I offered one of my systems (selling at eu 1595.--) for a video competition. I got some great attention and it was great fun.

However, it is hard to measure the actual effects. But I think that depending on other ways of spending your promotional buck it may well be worth it.

I think it is for me.

Contest is good if you use it properly. If you're smart you may even use it to create content for your info product... !

A couple of things with giveaways.

Giveaways are for building your email list. Make sure you have a legal (especially applies in EU where laws are stricter) way of data capturing them. I use a Google form. You may have to play the long game with this list as many will only be there to get free stuff.

Try and make the giveaway relevant to the product. If you have an ebook to promote - a Kindle giveaway is absolutely the right thing. But if your product is a pair of trainers - perhaps not.

Make the giveaway relevant to the audience/market.

The higher the perceived value the higher the number of entries. Also the higher the value - the higher the bar you can make for entry. Unfortunately some stuff - like rubbish PLR - can't even be given away.

Make sure you promote the giveaway. There are lots of facebook pages and blogs which will happily mention your giveaway. If nothing else this will help with SEO.

I have a squeeze page with a free giveaway. It sounds like I should look for people with large Facebook friend lists, and write blog owners?
Thanks.

Possibly. Remember it is all about perceived value. Is your squeeze page just for the giveaway? Is the giveaway genuinely timelimited, valuable (ie previously sold/available elsewhere for cash), limited number of copies.

You probably won't get an appreciative blogging audience if it's 10 real estate investment tips or a free quote for a new car.

But a free gadget/coupon suitable for mom's on stretched budgets? - Expect massive interest.

Giveaways work.

A big part of the typical IM way of doing business is giving away a really good e-book.

Customer googles something, finds your e-book.

You send them e-book in exchange for their email address.

You then have a list of people in your niche.

Then you can develop products for your list.
