Hi Guys,

Currently I'm working on a product that will hold loose sheets of paper. For the US market I want to use a size that is about half of a standard letter.

There is a standard size called "Statement" which is 5½ × 8½ inch, exactly half a letter. But it does not seem very common.

Is this a size that is difficult to get for users as loose sheets and if so, is there a better alternative?

Well, it seems that the vast majority of loose paper in the US is 8½ x 11 or 8½ x 14 (legal) - there used to be more available "stationery" sizes for people who actually wrote letters and sent them in the mail - but what I have noticed is those don't come blank anymore...I'd say the next best choice is the steno pad or "writing pad" size but those are always bound at the top..6x9" or 5x8" but definitely readily available in any office supply store...

Hope that helps...

Thanks Marcie, I thought as much, it's the same here with the a5 size. A4 can be bought easily but A5 is hard to come by other than bound with some extra material at the top.
