Hi-
I am in the process of creating my first muse. I have no web design / ecommerce background. I have my product and am planning to build a yahoo store. I understand the importance of having an affiliate program. Does anyone here have any experience using yahoo's affiliate program(Track Links) they provide with the store? How does this work? How do you ACTUALLY get people/websites to become an affiliate?

I have it – but I have never had a yahoo store but it looks like a good option for someone who is new to Internet marketing.
Also:
I know that you are probably excited and ready to go with making some money online – but take your time and plan everything out. I wasted TONS of money when I was first starting out online because I was too inpatient to plan things and learn more before I started spending money online

I am very familiar with Yahoo Stores (I have been using one for 2 years and in 2007 I have sold over USD 150,000 worth of products, dropshipping them directly from the manufacturer's warehouses in the US and Canada).
Yahoo Stores works extremely well IF:
1) you do some basic SEO techniques to your pages, which must be done at first when you build the webpages. If you do that, your pages have a very good chance of being ranked high in the free listings of the search engines
2) use yahoo search marketing to drive paid traffic to your store
3) you will be allowed to use the yahoo logo on your store, which is why I recommend drive traffic from yahoo paid search marketing: if a person yahoos a term....and they land on a site that has a yahoo logo, do you think he will trust your site? Yeeep....!
4) yahoo stores also has a fantastic little tool that will tell you which keywords generate sales
5) and also you can use yahoo stores to partner with CJ to recruit affiliates
6) I have the pro version of yahoo store, which also allows you to use coupons (which is how I RETAIN customers and bring them back to my website. I sell CONSUMABLE products...and I truly recommend you to do the same if you are interested in a STABLE, recurring type of income)
7) yahoo tech support is simply outstanding
8) I would also recommend you to have your yahoo store listed in the Yahoo Directory: this will boost your page rank (my website is a Page Rank 3), and in turn push your website high in the free listings of the search engines
9) despite what people might think, yahoo store IS available also for International merchant, as long as you have a merchant account which is FDMS compatible that works on a Nashville platform, available for non-US resident (and I have found the ONLY merchant that allows it!!!). As you might now from my previous posts, I am currently in Ireland, but I travel extensively in Europe, but I do business online on the US and Canada markets...and I hammer my competition!
10) statistics: as I said many times on this forum, I am a big fan of RETURNING businesses. I am a very conservative type of person, so I want the peace of mind that only recurring revenue can give me. Yahoo Store has a tremendous statistic feature that allows you to discover in 3 seconds who are your top returning customers (I have cusotmers who purchased more than 20 times in 2007!). Another fantastic feature is that you can see the "click trails": you can see exactly where your prospects entered your site, which path they did, and where they left. This is a KEY information to improve the traffic CONVERSION of your yahoo store!
with all these tools I have developed a yahoo store sale machine that converts 1 visitors out of 3 into SALE. I dont think it can get much better than that!
Ah and yes, if you know how to do it, you can (and should) integrate your yahoo store with a email autorepsonder program, both in the front end and in the back end.
