Hey everyone,
I read 4HWW this summer and loved it. I've been brainstorming muse ideas ever since and I think I have one. What do you think?
Also, a thanks to Neville from www.nevblog.com, I bought his Behind the Scenes Course on appsumo the other day and watched it all in one sitting. Highly recommended.
Anyway, like Nev, I want to set up a dropshipping business.
My product will be high quality aftermarket car parts: body kits, cool mufflers, lambo doors, and a variety of other accessories.
I know, this may sound like a HUGE market -- but from what I found, most other websites in this niche are cumbersome and complicated. I know nothing of web design -- but when I outsource the development of my website I'm going to work hard to ensure that the site is beautiful and also functional and easy to navigate. I loved Nev's advice of including lots of videos, pics, and testimonials on the product page. A quick look on youtube shows no shortage of videos of cars with cool body kits on the track, so this shouldn't be too hard to implement. And NO OTHER SITE that I've seen incorporates video at all.
I think the idea is sound because A. The products are expensive, so I'll have to make less sales to make a good amount of money, and B. I'm targeting a group of people that has money to spend (someone who bought a $50,000 or higher car should have no problem tacking on a cool spoiler for $400).
Potential trouble spots: Advertising. Keywords are pretty expensive. But with a budget of $50 at start for testing purposes I can reasonably expect (according to Google Keywords) between 100-150 ad clicks per day for a variety of broad and specific keywords. I've never experimented with adwords before...is this a good return on investment, or not?
I've emailed a variety of car part companies trying to find a supplier willing to dropship, I'll follow up with phone calls in about a week if I have no response.
I've also registered www.coolcarbody.com - what do you think of the name?
Any and all feedback, help, tips, criticism, mockings, etc are welcome at this point. Tell me if you think this is a solid venture or if I'm wasting my time. Any future problems I'm not foreseeing? Thanks!
