Hi, So i want to test my Muse and need to make the website. Im looking for the easiest webpage developer, I've briefly used Dreamweaver before but thats was a bit complex and I need something simple preferrably WYSIWYG? The webpage will be simple anyway.

Any ideas? :)

Thanks.

I've never used it but xsite pro? It's been mentioned here. You could turn a wordpress blog into a site, too.

I vote for DW (DreamWeaver) hands down., use one of their own templates or DL one free from the internet and then it is all pretty much WYSIWYG from there.,

May look a little intimidating initially., but well worth the hour or so to figure out. Do you have any coding (HTML) experience at all? If so, that will help.,

Also., is VERY good to have this experience for future ventures / sites.,

im not sure if this is too simple for you but easyweb 7 from avanguard.com
I use this program and its really a click and drag build your own website. it will look like a homemade basic site unless you know flash or something cool. but its great to build a basic brouchure site or build a skeleton for the programmer to use.

Personally, I am done with creating websites from scratch... there are so many good CMS's out there, http://wordpress.org, being my favorite.

You can get wordpress, find a good template for free and tweak it as desired, and viola... a great website.

AND, in case some of you don't know, the blog does NOT have to be on the front page so you can make this look like a "regular website" if you desire and not even have a blog.

If you truly want to learn how to build websites, etc... go for it...

but I suggest you learn how to, and spend your time, making money... and MINIMIZE ALL OTHER ACTIVITES that do not directly make money, as much as possible!

Mmmm, Just found out that nvu is old...
But it has been upgraded to KompoZer.

I found out that cut and paste did not work in nvu (mac). KompoZer does not have this.

nvu's bad

wordpress is pretty simple

dw's nice. just need a little time to find your way around.

if the design's taking up too much time, and it can easily do this, hire someone else to do it.

Do you need to pay for Wordpress for this use? I realise there is a free version but is it useable?

Yes, it's free and useable. All you need is a hosted domain. Download wordpress, view the readme and it walks you through it. You might have a few problems if you use GoDaddy as a host, but there are tutorials out there to help you out.

Google sir, is your friend. There are tons of free templates to use too.

Wordpress won't make you money, but it is simple, free, and fun.

Yeah, what overseasplease said... :)

Its absolutely free. And even if you dont have a hosting account, you may be able to get a free site at wordpress.com.... which is different than wordpress.org. both owned and managed by the same group, just different uses from what I understand.

there are sooooo many good free templates its ridiculous. Not to mention all the good plugins to help increase your site's usefulness... but again, don't get carried away. Keep it simple.

Ohhh, I disagree. If your website is done right then it will bring in money automatically. Blogging and stuff and can't get traffic to your website and how are you going to get people to see what you have. You have to spend time marketing somehow and if you do a great CONTENT based website, then it will sell itself and keep driving traffic with you in Burma.

Marketing and website building IS making money.

Check out this website:

www.anguilla-beaches.com

It ranks #1 when you Google Anguilla, a small Caribbean Island- even above the Chamber of Commerce! It rakes in about $3000/month just by sitting there. The owner spends 1 to 2 hours a week on it and she doesn't do any blogs or takes any email- her dad won't let her. She's a teenager. She could leave the country for a year and still make $3000/month indefinately because she's providing keyword-based content to people who are looking for it.
