hi everyone! how are you?

my name is Robert and iīm about to start my own business thanks to Timīs book! ;). It will be a marketing company and as soon as the website is ready (i still donīt have anyone designing it :( )

i have almost everything set up, but i would like to have a great logo to represent me forever!, and as mentioned above....a website too.

i've been searching on the net and there are a lot of companies that outsource graphic design services, so it is difficult to make a decision just like that. There are some who seem to be very good, and some others didn't catch my attention at all.

have any of you have had your logo designed in companies like this?

help will be much appreciated.

Hi Robert,

I typically have all my graphics design work done by a friend who does it for a living (he hasn't found a muse yet :). I really like his work and it is cheaper than most outsourcers while still being high quality. Let me know if you want a sample or his contact info. and I can arrange that.

Welcome to the forum Robert!

I've recommended this company http:thenetmencorp.com to some of the members, so you're one of that group now ;) !

Hope it helps!

Good luck!

One great and very inexpensive resource is a copy store, like Kinko's of Xerox. I design a lot of my own stuff, and have all my printing jobs under 10,000 pieces done there.

They also offer design services at a very reasonable price. They are in the copy and printing business, not the design business, so that design work is looked at as a service instead of a profit center, kind of the opposite of a professional designer.

The best thing about that service is that it is cost effective to print up 100-250 business cards at a time, and change your logo, style, info every printing. This is an opportunity to get your card into customers hands far more frequently. When you see them, it is always easy to ask, do you have my new card?, and they will say no most of the time.

Hi,

First of all, I wish you all the best as you make this happen for yourself!

On the logo/graphics.... Here's what I would do:

Go to http://contests.sitepoint.com/categories/logo-design and make a post.

Here's the deal... This is a contest. You state your reward (the amount you will pay), and the details of your request, on this forum.

Next, a beautiful thing happens.... all of the great designers come and post their designs according to your specs.

This way, you get to PICK your favorite one. You can even ask them to tweak their entries before you decide. This is like paying a design firm to come up with many, many different designs from different people.

Since there are so many people creating potential designs, the variability and choice is fantastic!

Let us know how it goes however you decide to go!

Make it a great day!
Shane

i was also told to check on elance.com....there are a lot of providers there, so i will need some time to make up my mind.
