Where should I begin the process of Muse creation? Do I create a website with the product in mind, or do I develop the product first?
I have a couple of ideas on Muses. Not sure aboout the practicality of them or where to start.
The first Muse is a "business in a box" kit with a web site, like this one, for feed back and resources. This will require a fair bit of work on manuals and forms and DVD/CD creation, and the like. It is a hardware and software combo.
The second Muse is a website to bring together people in a specific business to demonstrate their wares and for people to buy from them. Not like eBay or anything like that. It would be industry specific. Obviously, with this being a website as my product I would build the site as I go along. But where to begin? It's not product based. It heavily involves making the site known to people in the industry and getting them to join and then getting the word out to the public at large. Should I start contacting some people first or develop a basic site and start filling it in with people later? I know this sort of Muse is labor intensive but I have 2 partners who wish to do the day to day stuff if I can get it all going for us. WE are not in this particular industry but do know some people who are. We are going to be, more or less, a liason.
I am not a "techie". I am a businessman. I don't have web building or design skills. I understand that those skills can be learned, bought, or outsourced. Which path to take?
What are your recommendations on where to begin?
