I just picked up the book and started reading. A question that I would like to toss out to the audience is, what is the total nest egg that other readers of this blog have? Not including your house, since you need to live somewhere.

I am a 46 years old male, 2 teenage boys and Wife of 20 years. Primary house is paid off. Currently a W-2 worker, selling high tech solutions.

I am looking to take a mini retirement and wanted to get others thoughts.

My nest egg is approx $850,000 - invested with a Financial Advisor.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Wow. I would love to have a nest egg that size. Granted, I'm half your age and have no kids (but do have a mortgage, bills, and other financial responsibilities).

As for your questions, I would probably say that you're in good shape. It would probably depend on what you're used to living on, though. I would recommend setting up some kind of muse to replace at least some of your income right now, so that you don't have to tap too much into your nest egg. The beauty of Tim's system is that if you're successful at it, you probably won't need to ever have your nest egg; if you're only working 4 hours a week you won't need to retire anytime soon, if ever.
