My guess would be to have an open traveling schedule, be open to traveling anywhere, and be notified via email by some company that offers bargains for future traveling dates. Though I can't find any sites that notify you of these true bargains.

How do you get cheap international flights?

I like Adioso.com (http://adioso.com/) for finding cheap fares, especially if your not in a rush because often the cheapest price will have a connection or 2.

Adioso is a travel search engine for spontaneous and adventurous travellers.

Its natural language search interface allows date-flexible and destination-flexible searches, like “San Francisco to NYC late October”, or “Austin to anywhere under $200 next week”.

My idea is to not worry about the cost and find a way to just write it off as a business expense.

But Adioso looks cool too.
