I am thinking about a career change once I graduate from graduate school (I am 28). I have been working at my current and first full time job for approx. 2 years. My parents offered to match my salary while I am unemployed if I choose to quit in order to search for a new job. I think this is an opportunity that would be very foolish to pass up. Having some time off from work would be like a nice mini-retirement for me, which I need. I also still live at home and never had a relationship. That's right, not even a first kiss yet. Lol.

You don't need to quit your job to find another one- do both at the same time. Once you've graduated, the time you put in at grad school is surely more than would be required to hunt down a better job. Besides, your parents want to pay for you to find another job, not to goof off and take a mini retirement.
While you're at it I'd recommend that you learn to take risks, both socially and economically.
I've had simmilar help from my mom and believe me, it is not real help at all (though really lovely). It just delays the inevitable.
DO NOT QUIT!
But finding a way to get out of the house, that is a good idea.

I would agree -- don't take it. Maybe you know best though. It is just that getting a job when unemployed is probably about 4 times harder than switching from one job to another.
What career field are you considering?
