I originally read the 4hww back in late 2009 and early 2010. At the time I was in a job that I absolutely dreaded and in fact was working two jobs tyring to support a family and everything that comes with it. House, car, school, etc.

Unfortunately my marriage is ending having a lot to do with the many hours I worked. I never focused on what was important. I thought I was doing the right thing by my family but as hind sight is always 20/20 I realize many of the grave mistakes I have made.

Fortunately, the pending divorce has done a few things for me. One, the job I dreaded was eliminated in mid 2010 and I went to work for a Tech firm. Fast forward to now, this firm is allowing me to work from home full time!!!!! that is right guys/gals I am at home starting monday 1-10-11. Second, the second job went away at the end of December. Third, because of the pending divorce the other half and I decided to claim bankruptcy in effect eliminating all of our debt and financial obligations as well as getting rid of the "things" we really don't need. Don't get me wrong, I am not happy about claiming bankruptcy as I used to be a financial advisor. In time though I will be able to repay what I owe.

In addition, I am rereading the 4hww. I will be recreating the life I have always wanted since I essentially have a fresh start in every area. I would like to share that at the top of my list will be reconciliation with my wife, however long it takes. Second, and in the mean time of reconciliation, working on me in general, exercise, eating habits, etc. Third, with the new found freedom of working at home I can focus much attention on my two wonderful children and work on my muse (still to be decided) but I love brainstorming about business ideas.

I have no where to go but up and I would be grateful for those of you who would like to walk this journey with me. I will post updates and as I progress and give feedback where I can. I wish you all a fantastic 2011!!!!!!

keep it up buddy :).
I am on the same journey as you. Minus the problems in your life.

I realised for 4HWW to work , ONe must be in a suitable industry.
If you are in army or doctor or anything that requires one to be physically there.
It's going be only a little effective.

I work for a tech firm too :) so i love the freedom as well!!!

Be careful though. I am in Tech and I worked from home for FIVE YEARS straight.
Even though you are home, you are still tied to your PC / laptop/ conferences / Webex/ code review and so on.
Granted you will be in your PJ's, but you can't just go out for 5 hours and catch a movie

Thanks for the encouragement. I am not in a traditional tech role. I am in sales and have been researching tools to help automate my life and make it easier for me not to be tied to my phone or laptop. I am going to be using evoice to forward all calls through to my cell and then through to my home office where my associates work so nothing important is ever missed. I am also looking at awayfind for my email. I have also purchased a tool that will help me make it through my required phone activity for the day thus improving my productivity and spending less time in work for work sake.
