Hi all,

I’ve been following this forum over the last couple of weeks and I’ve decided that it’s time to get involved! My name’s James, I’m 22 years old and I’m from the UK (currently living in London). I graduated in the summer and started my first job in August as an analyst in the London office of a large US consultancy.

It’s a nice enough firm and I’m earning a good salary for my age, but the work just feels mind numbingly pointless. I look at the partners in the firm in their 40s and 50s, and I absolutely do not want to be in their position when I’m their age. I’ve realised that I’d much prefer to be able to take time to see the world and actually live my life rather than be forced to spend most of my waking hours for the next 40 years in a drab office in the UK!

I read 4HWW a couple of weeks ago and it really inspired me to try to break free from the corporate world as soon as possible. I have an idea for a muse which I’m confident is worth pursuing – I’ll keep you all posted on how it goes!

I was also wondering if there were many London-based people on this forum and if so whether they ever met up to discuss ideas and provide guidance to each other? Looking at some posts from 2008, it seems that there used to be a few London people who met up from time to time. If anybody knows please get in touch!

Cheers :)

James

I'm in a similar situation and this is my first post as well. I'm not from London, but if I were I would meet up with you. Just wanted to wish you luck!
