Steps to make product happen?

I have an idea for a muse that is a product/ invention. The book circumnavigates the steps to do so.

Does anyone know of any sources that tell you more about prototyping, contract manufactures, etc?

Simply google "inventor forums", "contract manufacturing", "start your own Y Company", "outsource design" or something similar.
