First off, this is my first post in these forums, so hello everyone. :)

I read Tim's book a year ago or so and I loved it. Recently I began working out a remote work arrangement with my boss and 3 weeks ago I was given the all clear; GREAT! My fiancée and I are looking to move to a beach town where she has family, but it is a small place and there aren't many jobs in my line of work down there (software development).

We were all set and ready to go when our current lease runs out in February, but I recently got transferred to a new team at work and the new boss is NOT ok with me working remotely. :(

This is a big disappointment because it throws a serious wrench in our plans. That said, I'm thinking of going anyway and just quitting my job. I don't have a ton of money in the bank (about 10k) and I have student loan payments and a car payment to make each month. I'm thinking I might just sell the car to get rid of one more bill, but...I'm still very uneasy about the situation. Even if the job is boring, there is something to be said about the security of a predictable paycheck, especially with a wedding coming up late next year.

At the end of the day, I have to make the decision for myself, but I was just curious what some of you might think about it.
