Hi guys! Wondering if anyone can help me decide on a short break in europe for two weeks before christmas. I am looking for a cool place in europe, not too far from London (like no more than 3-4hrs flight) to live and work online for two weeks before Xmas. My criteria are:

-Relatively Cheap food + rent (or at least not expensive)
-Not COLD! this is why I cant stay in miserable England any longer.. ;)
-Lively - Young people around, nightclubs and bars
-Safe
-English speaking atleast somewhat

Im sure theres tonnes of cool places and cities I've never heard of. Berlin sounds amazing, as do some of the central/eastern european cities, but I'd love to avoid the cold if possible.

I was wondering about Seville, Lisbon etc, or any others anyone can think of. Also wondered about Ibiza or the greek islands.

Cheers guys!

I've always wanted to spend xmas in Austria but it's probably too cold for your purposes

To truly avoid the cold you'd have to go to the south of Europe, but that's the part where the least people speak English.

I'd recommend Cyprus, relatively cheap, great nature and it's still about 25C there :) Might not be as lively as you wish though, especially in the winter. If that's really important to you, you might check out Sevilla (although flying to Spain might be a bit of a pain at the moment) or a city in Southern Italy. Or Malta.

Lisbon, Cyprus, Malta...

Think maybe also of Marocco which isn't that far out.

Awesome! Thanks guys.

You've helped me narrow it down to Seville or Lisbon. Rooms look cheap, both look very lively at night, lots of cool historical and cultural stuff to occupy my afternoon wanderings, etc.

Any distinctions to make between these two? Does one stand out above the other for some reason I've not considered?
