Hello everybody,
anyone already tried to make a website with affiliation links for physic products (by Amazon for example)?
I'm having fun this weekend making a simple wp site with product reviews and Amazon links for this products but I want to know whether somebody knows the best format for selling the product:
Using the picture+text image so there is price but it only exists in vertical format so not very clean after a blog post
The picture format: Do people understand that it is a link??? (or should I create my own button?)
Or just a text like "buy the product on Amazon today"
Any experiences???
thank you very much!

You are ALWAYS safer with an order here button. Don't give people any reason to be confused.

That's well said "don't give people a reason to be confused"
On a side note, be careful to select products which are selling and whose keywords you can easily get ranked on the search engines.
If you need easy and automatic content creation try http://kansieo.com/caffeinated-content-for-wordpress/
Based on keywords you select it will scour the net and post opensource blog posts and comments at a refresh rate you select.
Happy hunting,

Hey aricia,
Look, affiliate marketing is definitely a way to make a lot of money online. But I wouldn’t be suggesting you do it with Amazon.
The margins of the referral commissions available from Amazon are very, very small. You’re better off looking at other places to get your affiliate commissions such as ClickBank or Commission Junction. These are two of the better ones to look at.
The other option is to go to WorldwideBrands.com and actually find some people who are willing to drop-ship products on your behalf. You actually make the whole sale and get someone else to deliver the package. So affiliate marketing, you take a referral commission, which is great. But drop shipping, you can make a lot bigger margins but you have to sort of handle the actual sale side of things. Not the fulfillment, just the sale.
But definitely, I’d be testing your market with Amazon to make sure you can get traffic to your site and people are willing to convert and buy something (i.e. click through to an Amazon site and buy something there). But you’re not going to be able to retire on Amazon commissions, it’s just not there. It’s a great way to test but not a great way to retire.
Cheers,
Pete

That's insane, is it for real?? Is there a version for Blogger?

Anyone have a link to a site that is successfully doing this? I would love to have a look.

Thanks everybody,
I didn't imaging getting rich with this website, I actually wanted to test some techniques to get free traffic and I needed a website to try this and making a review website gives me quick a lot of content. And I thought why not try to make some euros while experimenting...
I also want to use this website to promote my actual product (same target group)
About Clickbank and other affiliate websites, the problem is that I'm not on the English market and there really aren't a lot of interesting products on this sites for me (it's a pity I know but the rest of the world is not as into affiliate programs as America or UK!)
I don't mind, less competitors for me ;-)
But thank you all for your help!
