Hi everyone,
I just felt like showing you something simple that I did, that is actually profitable, and lines up nicely with the 4HWW principles.
First, some history. I read 4HWW about 3 years ago, loved it, started designing businesses, started outsourcing to places such as Elance, etc. I have built up more than one online business and I'm doing OK.
At some point in the fall of 2009 I got slapped in the face (metaphorically) by John Jonas, from ReplaceMyself (outsourcing training). He runs a business that teaches people how to outsource. I learned that I could hire people in the Philippines, who speak and write in very good english, for $300 per month.
Considering I was paying $4 per hour on elance this was unbelievable to me. $300 per month is the same as $1.14 per hour if you assume 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, 22 weeks a month.
I joined John's outsourcing training program and I got busy looking for candidates. The first guy I hired was probably someone I would not hire today because I did a bad job of interviewing him and he didn't know as much as I hoped. He was mainly hired as a VA to do website maintenance, and any time-heavy tasks. He knew next to nothing, but I trained him and he became good.
I've also hired writers. Some are great, some flaked out on me. Advice: avoid hiring part time students. The job is not a priority to them.
So, where does this become a muse?
ReplaceMyself has an affiliate program. Because I was so happy with the "big shift" I made in outsourcing methods, I started to promote it quietly. I noticed people were biting, and I was making some commission.
After learning a TON about the right and wrong ways of doing things, I decided to setup a website dedicated to promoting this program.
Here it is:
http://replace-myself-bonus.com
The website DOES include a "review", but think about it: Offering someone a review is nice, but it is not a "hook" to get them to use your affiliate link.
If you want them to use your link you need to offer them a good reason. So I created a bonus package for people who used my link. This is not a new strategy. People in the internet marketing space do this all the time.
Basically, the website targets people who ALREADY KNOW about the product, and are doing homework on it, to see if it's right for them.
By doing the appropriate on-page and off-page SEO, I can get ranked for the keywords that matter. Those are the keywords that people enter into Google when they are doing research on the product.
Then, when people come to my site they see that I have a bonus package available. There are a lot of people promoting this product but I think I'm the only one offering a bonus package. So, naturally, if they decide to buy, they use my link. Why wouldn't they? If they buy using any other link they miss out on a free bonus. People like free stuff.
So there you have it. If you want to promote something that you are highly educated on, see if you can offer some kind of a useful bonus. If you can, DO IT. Then setup a website talking about the product, and make it clear that you are an affiliate, and that you get paid for sales through your link. But make your bonus an "ethical bribe".
Go see how up-front I am in my sales letter. Aside from the header graphic on my template (part of the FlexSqueeze theme), there is NO HYPE and there is no way a reader can misunderstand my intentions.

This is just one business model that works. I thought you guys here might like to see it simply because it is in line with the 4HWW principles, plus it involves the much-discussed topic of outsourcing.
