Howdy,
Posting this as a service to the community. I've just spent about 4-5 months doing research on backup, as my niche is tech support for entrepreneurs. I created a solid guide on the best services/software out there, how to decide on which, and how to set it up...with plain english, pictures and video. I thought, what the heck, I'm going to try selling information products and building my own following. It's been a process.
This community has been awesome to me so far so I want to offer to everyone here. It launches on Tuesday and will retail to the public for $9.99 as my first real product so I can't just post a link here but I can send it to you.
If you think you can benefit from it, please send me an e-mail at rob[at]itarsenal.com I'd be glad to send it to a hard working entrepreneur and I'd appreciate any help on launch day.
You can check out a sneak peak/more info of it at http://www.itarsenal.com/backup-informer-sneak-peak/
Comments, critiques, questions, bla bla are welcome!

Congratulations Robert! I hope it goes well for you.
Please keep us posted on how the launch goes.
I checked out your salespage. I was wondering how you decided on this particular page as opposed to one of your other drafts. I think it looks great, just wondering how you put it together and what your main objectives were.
Are you also generating revenue from reselling the back up solutions you recommend in your book?

This sounds great but do you explain how to restore a website to both your current host or to a new host? That is critical I think.

Thanks for the comments! I had a copywriter, who was actually a commenter on my blog review it for free, then several "ask and review" sessions with myself and after I read the free resources "Make Your Words Sell" ... that's what led me to here. I didn't use Keywords or Adwords with this at all..."Backing Up" is a hard keyword niche to hit...and although I could have tried my hand at the Adword Voodoo for a few hundred dollars I decided to go the social media route using connections I've built over the last few months and people I've met being "in the space" of technology for online entrepreneurs...it'll be interesting...who knows how well it will sell. the important part though was that it's under my belt...i can now bundle it, offer it as bonus in the future, build on it and try again.
it took me forever to just get something of quality on the board...so many questions. i knew better but it's like a process until you go through, repeatedly banging your head on the wall before you realize you just need to move forward.
but the finished product http://backupinformer.itarsenal.com at least looks the part! e-mail me if you'd like the guide.

Hi Virginia,
The backup guide deals more with files on a computer but backing up web hosting files is even easier depending on what web host you use. I'd be glad to help you out and get you a working solution. Check out my site and send me a message with who is your web host provider. Most providers keep backups for 30 days automatically for free, you just have to know how to use them...I'm speaking from using GoDaddy from experience. You can also use programs to copy down all your files...but I'm getting too detailed already! Let me know if you want more help.

Yes, thank you. You can tell I have had backing up websites (so I can move them to another host) on the brain because I didn't totally take that in.:o
In looking over your mail sales page, it looks really great. And something that I am definitely interested in.
Hope your launch is going well. Tweeted it.

The launch I'm happy to say is going well. I don't have a very large reach because the site is so new. I didn't spend much time creating my own "tribe" of fans or followers, I really wanted to see what creating a digital product was about...so with only 20 RSS readers just as a random gauge I've been able to convert a little above %3...but only on about 400 hits to the sales page...considering how low I am on the totem pole of having my own regular traffic, and I'm not using Adwords at all, I'm really happy with this.
I'm excited to put more work into it and help out my users...and grow them.
PS. Thanks for the the comments and compliments!

Nice website and design !!! Did you use Wordpress theme to do it ? Or did you do it from scratch ?

Looks great!
The one thing I'd suggest changing would be to move the "Fine / About to fail." text to a caption either above or underneath the pictures of the laptops. When I first read the "Can you tell the difference..." question, my first thought was "Of course I can see the difference... one says 'fine' on the screen the other says 'about to crash'..." The point is that a computer that is about to crash often looks exactly the same, so both laptop pictures should look the same, too.
I found myself tempted to buy when reading (even after your messages above), which I take as a good sign. :)

It's a custom CSS theme...not wordpress although that would be awesome...maybe I will make it into a Wordpress theme...let me know if you're interested in the layout I can put it together for you

Thanks for the tips...I think there are a lot of things that could change...that's a good distinction I could have made though...really appreciate the feedback...be glad to help you if you're in need or find yourself with some tricky tech decisions.
