hey volks!

i'm planning to have a "project-focused" stay in south america (to learn spanish and some tango) starting october this year and i am searching for like-minded people that want to join this adventure! i'm very much into entrepreneurship and creating "my own thing", working for myself instead of large corporations. i have strong backgrounds in coding but recently also developed a vivid interest for the area of personal development.

about me:
- i'm a 25 year old dude, graduated from university with a bachelor of science in informatics and electrical engineering
- i always believed in "my own thing" rather than working in large corporations for someone else
- since recently, i'm totally drawn into the area of self development

things i find pretty cool: 4HWW, Seth Godin, Anthony Robbins, Digital Information Products, Coding, 37 Signals, SEO, Pick Up, NLP, Self Development, All kind of sports, Playing Theater…

i'm thinking about sharing a flat with like-minded people and probably doing some projects together. creating a mastermind group as napoleon hill would call it (http://www.passionforbusiness.com/articles/mastermind-group.htm).

if you think this sounds like a cool (or crazy) plan and wanna join, email me at: mowsen@gmail.com

hope to meet you soon,
all the best,
mo

p.s.: i'm buying a one time ticket, so there is no end date to it in my mind yet.

p.p.s: south america is just a thought. any other ideas are more than welcome (san francisco sounds cool too)..

In quite a similar situation as you.

You're right, as Tim says, inaction is not the goal. You don't want to just sit around all day. You need to fill your time with new activities. For example, joining clubs or groups. Volunteer. Teach people your skills. Learn something new.

I think it'd be cool to start a group of entrepreneurs in their 20's that rents a few awesome houses (think $10,000+ per month), and split the rent to more reasonable amounts like $3000 or something. That way you get to live an "Entourage/Cribs" lifestyle. I keep finding awesome places fit for a celebrity, but the rents are prohibitive unless I find people to split with. I don't need 10,000 square feet, but want the private gate, waterfall, media room, spa, 2 sub zero fridges, super tall ceilings, and luxury finishes. Anybody else down?

South America... I've only been to Ecuador.
Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay are all on my list, but no immediate desire to go there.

Cape Town, I was recently there for a few weeks and think its a place I could spend maybe 4 months hanging out. Cape Town is on my mind now for Oct/Nov - Mar/Apr.

San Francisco, I grew up near there, haven't been back in a while, and don't really want to go back.

I think this is a great idea. I have some friends who are professional poker players who have done this and have had an amazing time. Now I am not a professional poker player so I think 3,000 a month for me would be quite cost prohibitive. I think for most people in their early 20's that it wouldn't make much sense.

The beauty of going to South America is our American dollar is worth 3-10 times as much there. I just came back from a 9 month backpacking journey around Asia that only cost me 13.3k. I am very interested in starting something for myself but I am looking for the right idea. People in my circle of friends and family don't understand what I am trying to do. Meeting like minded people would be ideal, and living in South America would be even more awesome.

I was actually thinking of moving back to Asia and doing something like this. There is a huge market in Asia that hasn't quite been tapped yet.

Entourage/Cribs life, shit thats the dream.

Mowsen that is a very good idea. Unfortunately I don't even have the money for a ticket at the moment. But when I have, this sounds great. It should be something like Project Hollywood, like in the book of Neil Strauss, The Game ;) hehe. Anyway, good luck and have fun and I'll try to set up a thing like that when I have some money :)

Well you could also be inspired by someone who is planning a stay in Bali with alot of fellow entrepreneurs.

While all the spots are taken, I know that they are already planning the next "Get Away".

Anybody can apply, but I guess they get more applications than there are seats so it helps if your idea is really badass, if you have a killer personality or if you can mix the best bloody mary
