I came across this in a link on my webmail service home page and was wondering if anyone had any experience with a company like it, or any better options. It is basically a service that will allow you to get faxes in your email in box.

Here is the site: http://www.callwave.com/landing/wam_business_faxOnly.asp

It looks like the also offer some other services, but I am more interested in the fax option because I live in Japan and most people don't have a clue how to dial directly when making an international call, so having a US phone number for them to fax to is a great service.

I am using efax and rapidfax services and they are both excellent. The rapidfax service is $9.99 a month.

The one drawback I found was that using these services you cannot get your fax number. That is why I am using both. Everyone has my efax number and I cannot port it to another service.

Good luck

I've been using electronic fax services for a few years now.

One important thing to look for: be sure you can receive your faxes as PDF documents (instead of having to use some lame proprietary "fax reading" software.)

With eFax, I had to be on the paid monthly plan to read as PDF. It worked okay, and you can also pick your area code on that plan.

Currently, I use RingCentral.com for our 800# call-routing service. They include fax services. You can have people just fax your 800 phone number, or have a seperate fax line if you prefer. You may also choose to read your faxes in PDF or as a graphic TIFF file.

I use Faxage. I'm charged a monthly fee of about $4. Then, I pay only for incoming and outgoing faxes.
