Quick Question

I'll make this as short/simple as possible:

Info a: I spent the last 9 months coding some software.

Info b: I bought the domain name with which to sell the software on.

Question: Can I just up and sell the software on the website, or is there other steps involved that I wouldn't know about?

(Like for example: Have a good copywrite notice. (By using this product the author is in no way liable for misuse, damages, etc etc))

Anything else that comes to mind?

Yes, protect your product, but I'd worry most about how you're going to sell it. Just plopping it on the web won't pick up too much traffic. There are a million little "other things" you could do. Those things aren't as important necessarily, and- this is my personal opinion- get it up and running and sell the hell out of it, and the other stuff will fall into place. People spend too much time worrying about little things (and if you look hard enough more will always appear).

Long story short- make sure your stuff won't be stolen (so patent it, or attach the copyright notice- all of which shouldn't take too much time), and try your damnedest to get it out there.

Well, if you are used to coding you know that one wrong letter may cause failure. It is the same for legalese:

It is copyright, not copywrite :)

Alex is write, selling is the most important. But it is worth having some work done on the copyrights and legal writings, in general the mistakes can not be undone.

Oh, and Alex was right of course.

Go see what other stores have on their site. All of the things that they have up are there for a reason and you will most likely want to have them there too.

Here are some examples:

- privacy policy
- FAQ
- testimonials
- opt in forum for building your newsletter
- content to pull in traffic from google
