I met with one of the execs of a venture-backed financial web company recently. We discussed a potential joint venture for one of my sites, and one of the issues that came up was the paucity of posts on my site's message boards.
He's interested in the site mainly for its screening tool, not the message boards, but I'm trying to demonstrate the utility of the message boards. So I started a contest yesterday to encourage more posts there. You don't have to be a paying member to post on the site, or to enter the contest. First prize is $100 in gift cards to an upscale steakhouse chain.
This (http://steamcatapult.com/2010/04/23/contest-to-encourage-intelligent-posts/)blog post gives the details on the contest. If you want a good shot at winning a steak dinner while helping out an fellow 4HWWer, take a look. Thanks a lot.
