I went and got the Domain name I wanted first from Godaddy because I thought that was what i needed to do. Godaddy has a free starter page but I didn't activate it yet. I did get godaddyemail accounts and set up a few email accounts 5 for like $9.99 and have the domain name in the address I thought that was what I should do.
Now I need advice.. Can I move the domain name I registered at godaddy to another host, yahoo stores or anopther location? Will I be able to use those email addresses I set up somewhere else?? Or should I just have Godaddy host my site?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a geek, so I won't be able to give you a definitive answer, but...
I would say it depends on what you are trying to do. I signed up as an affiliate (see my mini-muse), registered with GoDaddy and am using their WST (Web Site Tonight) hosting service (if that's what you would call it). With about 3 hours of trial and error poking around and about 3 phone calls to tech support I had a simple 1 page web site. I don't do any e-commerce on my site. It simply tells about the product, and then links to another web site where they can buy the product. So, in this case, 1 page is all I need.
Perhaps you can provide a few more details as to what you are trying to do.

Moving where a domain name points to isn't so hard. For now, with a holding page and email there you're probably just fine. Later, if you want to move it to Yahoo shops or somewhere smilar, I'd be a tad surprised if Yahoo didn't have explicit instructions how to do what you need as Godaddy is so big and there are so many domains held there.
As for buying the domain name now, if it's something specific you wanted, then since it's probably only a few bucks a year, it was likely better to buy it now, get it out of the way and make sure you have it ready to go when you are ready - after all, someone might have come along the next day and bought it themselves.

I am looking to have a web site about where I live.. A lifestyle page, IT may be a little more complex than a one page site, but I want it to be informational, offer history of the area and links to conservation sites and then have a STORE.. The Store, My store will sell items that are esential to living this lifestyle anywhere in the world.. I was hoping on first generating some TMI then with the revenue and after experience of what products people are buying I would licesne a similar product with my Lifestyle site's name on it... Am I biting off more than I can chew???

That depends on how quickly you think you are going to get this up and producing income. I have a very similar site of my own (beckysbackyard-grandcanyon.com), and coach others to set these kinds of sites up. The biggest mistake I see most people make is they think once they put up a website that people will start visiting it automatically.
Not so.
The internet is not a field of dreams. 'If you build it, they will come' does not apply here. Somewhere, somehow, you need to get traffic to that website.
Pay-per-click is fast yet expensive traffic. Search engine searches usually give great traffic, but it's much slower to make it work and it should be built into the site from the very beginning to be the most effective. Whether you buy Pay-Per-Click traffic, or set the website up so that the search engines know about it and send you free traffic, either way, you need real visitors before you can make any money.
There is my soapbox speech for today! The point is before you start building anything, figure out how you are going to get your traffic.
Oh, and about the domain... If you have just bought it, you will probably have trouble moving it right away. Every time you make a major change to a domain, it's locked for 90 days. However, you can redirect/forward the domain you have now if that's what you want.
