Hello Everyone!

This is a site I made a while back. I'm planning on doing a complete revision soon and thought I'd post it here to get some feedback. I readily admit that this site is sub-par and needs a lot of work. I'm prepared for any and all criticism/tips/advice that you can give me.

Here's the URL: http://www.mydogcratetraining.com/

Thank you in advance for anything you can say about this site. I'm going deep sea fishing with my family this weekend but when I get back this site will be turned into a small monthly income! :)

Cheers and best regards,
Nick

Overall the site looks good and fitting for the subject. You don't need to say "welcome" twice though, what about changing the first to something more descriptive?

Good luck with everything!

I think it's a pretty good site. I just have 3 quick points/questions for feedback:
1) How are you going to monetize it?
2) You can possibly take this with a grain of salt, since I may not be your target audience, but I have no idea what dog crate training is, and you don't explain it effectively towards the top. What is it specifically, how is this site helping me with it, and why should I bother?
3) Simplify the site-- there's lots of chatter going on, and it makes me tend to want to skim it rather than absorb it all.

The way you initially described it I expected a nightmare with poor quality, but that doesn't seem to be the case to me. Good luck with your site, I wish you the best.

Hello :)

The site is fine... but I'm not sure if you will be able to sell the e-book unless you have a real USP (unique selling point).

The reason is, because when I was trying to train my puppy, I found loads of free information written by professional on this. If you have some USP like Crate train your dog in 10 days, or your money back!, Fastest way to potty train your puppy garanteed.

Or maybe, Crate training, the easy way (implying that your method of crate training is easier).

Good luck!!

:)

Took the words right out of my mouth! I have a puppy that driving me nuts, he seems up trainable. He's a Chihuahua who are notorious to being hard to train. Anyways, I have been looking for info on training and there is a lot of free stuff out there.

I read a lot on your site, I like the way it's written, it had some good information. Be sure to post again when you have finished the revision.

Hey everyone!

Thank you very much for your feedback! I hope I applied some of the advice alright. I've revised the site a bit. It still has a lot of content, but I'm hoping the top blog post gives enough information to the reader for them to figure out if crate training is a great idea for their dog or not.

Here's the site: http://www.mydogcratetraining.com/

I also took down the affiliate product that I had. I'm going to look for a better one to put up that doesn't have an incredibly extensive sales letter. Down the road I'll have my own product (something along the lines of "Crate Train Your Dog In Under 2 Weeks!" or something like that).

Here's what I'm going to work on next:
- Find a product that has great conversion (or design one)
- Using PPC advertising (trying to find enough coupons to run a campaign for a few weeks/months)
- Building backlinks to obtain first spot in Google

Any other tips/suggestions/criticism? I welcome all responses :)

Thanks,
Nick

Hi,

I really like your site. I think if you put together some video's where it shows your actually training the dogs with your techniques in the book then you might have something and it will be an easier sell. I would invest in good video since video's in your situation can be more effective than lots of text.

You have a great site, but you should put more photos and maybe categorize sections like Train a Husky in 5 days, Train a chiwowa to do this in 3 days, etc. Specific information on a certain breed may prove more effective than a general all dog breed. For instance your site may be able to rank better if you chose to niche it down to a particular dog, like how to train your jack russel.

The reason for this is because if I type in dog training and this is a very general category I get alot of results.

Also I see you're using All in one seo. I would switch to head space2. And I was looking at your site you may need to speed it up with WP super cache. Google is starting to factor in load time of pages. So a speedy site will have ranking. I see that you have some code bloat in your scripts you may want to turn off some plugins on certain pages that you don't need.

If you need more info let me know
