Hi guys,

I purchased my domains on Joker.com several months ago, and now that I am finally setting up my site and starting to get my business running, I am realizing that Joker has no options for email beyond email forwarding. So basically, I can have an email forwarded to my yahoo address, and then I have to respond from my yahoo address to suppliers, customers, etc. This definitely won't work for me, because it screams low-end home-based business, and I have a lot of potential suppliers who are weary of home-based startups.

Any advice? Should I move to another domain, or is there some tool I can use for a workaround, or set up my own mail server?

Thanks in advance!

Carrie

There are other companies that will host your domain and provide full email service. In no particular order: iPower.com, Domain.com, Domains.com and GoDaddy.com are some places to start. Best of luck, James

Thanks James! Anyone have feedback on these providers? I've heard quite a few complaints about GoDaddy, but I don't remember specifically the context.

I'm using Hostmonster and Bluehost right now - they are actually owned by the same company so no wonder they are so similar. They both use cPanel, which is very standard. Go with one of them and you'll be quite happy.

You can move your domain over easily.

Google apps is the way to go. It is free and better than any competitor on the market. Better by a long shot.

I guess "free" and "$50 per user per year" mean something different to me. :)

Reliable, secure online applications wherever you work
Google Apps reduces IT costs and empowers today's employees. Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sites, and more - $50 per user per year. Try it free for 30 days.

Wow. Tim I expected a more researched answer from you. Google apps Standard Edition is still free. The default link takes you to the Premier Edition (Sorry about that link though).

Go here:
http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/group/index.html

What you get for free:
Email Domain hosting for up to 50 accounts, google docs, google sites, gmail, and google calendar.

It beats the pants off any paid service out there.

Nah, I was lazy. Wasn't worth my time at that time to really try and look for it. :)
