I want to hear from anyone with experience about how you go about doing market research or setting up focus groups. Basically my product, a mixture of entertainment and education, is aimed at a kids/family audience from 7 or 8 - 14/15, although adults (parents, family friends, relatives, teachers, grandparents etc) will be interested too in sharing the experience with their younger ones. Think Disney DVDs - that is how I see the customer base. So really the consumers are also adults with purchasing power that have a vested interest in their children and as such, they are part of the market research target.
