Install analytics software (like Google Analytics) and test, test, test.

* Use a photo that gives strong contrast where you have text. No light on light or dark on dark.
* Testimonials
* I didn't see anything unusual happen when I pushed the iPod play button. What should it do?
* Trust nothing I say. Test and trust the numbers (sometimes).

Sounds like a very, very cool product though.

It's programmed to play automatically. I'll change the text to reflect that.

The one thing I'm concerned about with the testimonials is that it almost looks cluttered as it is. I think I'll make a separate page for that.

Edit: Done.

Have you considered using more sales copy? You're doing a good job, but it does seem a little cluttered and I found the text was a bit hard to read.

I'd recommend testing for different styles of pages and sales copy, you'll find out pretty quickly what works best.

Additionally normally it's best to let people know the price after you have convinced them to buy, this way they will have less resistance and be focused on their desires, rather than perceived the pain of paying for something.

Hope this helps, good luck

Cool product and good sample, however the theme of the page interferes with the reading : try to have a different font type or another way to show your background image because so far it doesn't look professionnal.

However there is a good potential i guess

Way cool page! But...

I can hardly read the text on that page. Please consider removing the background pic. Also, my scroll wheel doesn't work on that page, I hate when that happens...

Some advice to improve conversion:

Make the page as easy to read as you can.

What Mmkc said about letting people know the price too early.

What Monkiii said about testing.

Also some video to show how easy it is to use might work.

You might also want to get people to sign up to your newsletter, perhaps by giving away a promo code to one lucky winner who signs up before some deadline, say, two weeks after release on app store. This is good if you plan to release some other apps for dj's.

One important thing when I buy an app, is that I'm able to interact with the developer of the app, and that the app is being supported and updated. Maybe a forum?

Cool app, BTW.

Hope this helps. Keep at it.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions guys.

Alright, I changed the bottom where the main text was to make it easier to read. I put a semi-transparent white box behind the text, whick seemed to do the trick, and I still get to keep my background image.

I also made a new page for the "Add to cart" page, which hides the price, and makes it less cluttered.

I'm going to look into a sales copy a little later.

I want to start split testing soon, but I don't really have enough conversions to test anything. Once I start getting enough i'm going to A/B Test.

And I like a lot of your stenlunds' ideas and I'll definitely look into making those happen.

Anyway anyone have any other suggestions? Maybe examples of pages that you know to be successful for learning purposes?

Hi Sh0w,

I have a suggestion. I don't know if you find it useful though. Websites made in Flash are not best for search indexes like Google, because they cannot read the text, simply because it is not text, it is embedded in a Flash animation.

Aside from that, it wouldn't hurt to turn up the contrast of the main navigation buttons. Especially the Download button. I have seen a lot of iPhone app websites that are one page only. Most of them with a big image, an explanation in big letters of what it does and a big call-to-action button.

But, to be honest, I have never tested conversion rates. I hope it helps a little though ;)

Meta-data. You can put search keywords in that. But you have a good point. I can probably put the text in there in small black print so the spiders can still read it. I'll dry the Nav button options as well.

There are a lot of tricks for SEO, like repeating a keyword 7 times in a text of 100 words. Also the search engines will rate html h1 tags higher than h2 tags etc. Yada yada. For the next time I would definitely create your website with HTML. By looking at your website, I don't see why it should have been made with Flash: it could have been made with HTML and jQuery. I have read that meta data is becoming less important for search engines because it's been abused for years.

Good luck!
