I am creating a program / internet course *to increase perceived value - as opposed to an ebook* in a niche market

I am a little weary of testing since it is an internet course and in my sale copy i mention starting the program today, now, etc...

however - i realize i probably shouldn't waste time creating a product no one wants to / is willing to buy.

The question is, how long should I test my muse for before I decide to dive in and make the product?
& What constitues as markers indicating I should make the product - what percentage of interest?

Well the only way to know if there is interest or not is to put the website up there, advertize for it and count how many sign ups you have. So far you should prepare a PDF report or some content that you would offer for free to the people who will sign up.

For advertizing, use Adwords and/or the social networks (Twitter, Facebook). After one week or two, you should check whether there is interest or not on your product.

Compare the number of visitors to the number of sign ups : that's you conversion rate. How much money did you spend on advertizing for that ?According to the price of your product and taking 50-70% of sign ups as orders how much money would you have made ? It mainly depends on your CPC and conversion rate.

For example if your CPC is 0.2$ and your conversion rate is 3% (quite good !), you would need 33 visits to sell one product, that is about 6/7$ advertising per item.

Comparethat to your product price : is it worth continuing ? How many did you sell over two weeks ? How many would you sell on a monthly basis ?

I hope it helps,
